Description: It is important to know that gender discrimination occurs when one person is treated less favourably than another one in a comparable situation because of his/her gender.

Understanding basic gender equality principles and ability to apply them in practice will help you to protect your or your colleague’s rights in the workplace. This is very important topic for migrants and refugees too as they will seek for employment in the hosting country and have to get the understanding on the topic of gender equality. Within this exercise you will get an understanding of the gender-based discrimination on the labour market and in the workplace, learn how to recognise gender-based discrimination in workplaces, understand what gender pay gap is and how it influence your economic situation within the pension period. As a result, you will be more prepared to protect yourself against gender-based discrimination in the workplace. If you have noticed the case of gender-based discrimination on the labour market or in the workplace, you could appeal to:
