Developing the Social and Civic Competence

Social and civic competence equips an individual with skills that gives him/her motivation, autonomy and responsibility to control their own lives beyond the social circumstances in which they find themselves by helping to create social capital, underpins democracy and social and economic development.

 

Aim: develop social and civic competence of adult educators work with migrants and refugees.

 

Objectives: 

  • provide knowledge about the key components and skills of social and civic competence;
  • raise awareness about the possibility of application of the social and civic skills working with migrants and refugees;
  • supply adult educators with links and references for deepening their knowledge on social and civic competence.

 

This Module covers 2 competence areas which are meant to develop 15 social and civic soft skills:
